Privacy Policy

Shift ("we," "our," or "us") is a daily word puzzle game for iOS, developed by Solari Games LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Information you provide:

If you create an account, we collect your first name and email address, or your name from Apple or Google if you sign in that way.

Information collected automatically:

• Game data - your puzzle results, guess history, streaks, and win/loss record. Stored on your device and, if signed in, synced to our cloud database (Firebase Firestore).
• Analytics - usage data such as puzzles started, guesses submitted, and win/loss events, provided by Firebase Analytics. This is collected regardless of App Tracking Transparency status; ATT governs cross-app tracking and advertising identifiers, which Shift does not currently use.
• Crash reports - if the app crashes, basic diagnostic information is automatically collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix the issue.
• Purchase information - if you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes the transaction and receives your account identifier and purchase/subscription details, used to grant your purchased items. If you're signed in with an email and name, we also send those to RevenueCat so we can look up your purchase history if you need support. See Third-Party Services below.
• Device information - basic info such as device type and iOS version, collected by Firebase.

How We Use Your Information

• To save your game progress and sync it across devices
• To calculate and display your stats and streaks
• To send a daily puzzle reminder notification (only if you opt in)
• To improve the game through anonymized analytics

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.

Legal Basis for Processing

If you're in the UK or the EU, here's the legal basis we rely on for each type of processing:

• Game data and account information - necessary to provide the game and sync your progress (performance of a contract with you).
• Analytics and crash reports - our legitimate interest in understanding how Shift is used and fixing problems, balanced against your privacy.
• Push notifications - your consent, given when you opt in. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Purchase information - necessary to fulfill your purchase (performance of a contract with you).

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) - authentication, database, and analytics. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google Sign-In - optional sign-in method. policies.google.com/privacy
• Sign in with Apple - optional sign-in method. apple.com/legal/privacy
• RevenueCat - processes in-app purchases and manages subscription/entitlement status. revenuecat.com/privacy

International Data Transfers

Firebase and RevenueCat are based in the United States. If you're in the UK, this means your data is transferred outside the UK. We rely on the UK's data bridge with the US (an extension of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) as the legal safeguard for this transfer.

Push Notifications

If you opt in, Shift sends a daily local notification reminding you to play. You can turn this off at any time in the app under Settings, or in your iPhone's notification settings.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app under Settings → Privacy Settings → Delete My Account. This deletes your account and game data from our database. Some data already processed by the third-party services listed above (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, RevenueCat) may be retained according to their own retention policies, and is not something we can retroactively delete on your behalf.

Your Rights

If you're in the UK or the EU, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (see Data Retention & Deletion above)
• Restrict or object to how we process your data
• Receive your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, contact us at info@playsolarigames.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority - in the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children's Privacy

Shift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
